Denture adjustments

If you have a problem with your existing denture, it may be possible to adjust it for better fit and function.

Common types of adjustment are tooth additionsrelines, and bite adjustments.

tooth addition is adding one or more denture teeth to your existing denture. If you’ve lost a tooth or some teeth since your denture was fitted, we can add in new denture teeth to replace them.

Relines are adjustments to the fitting surface of your denture. If your denture fits poorly, perhaps due to changes in the shape of your mouth (for example, if you have lost weight since your denture was fitted), we can add acrylic to create a snug new fitting surface.

If your bite is not even you may need a bite adjustment. This involves having you bite on coloured articulating paper, which shows up which areas on the biting surfaces of your denture teeth are uneven and need adjustment. By carrying out slight occlusal grinding of these areas a balanced bite can be achieved.

“Having had discomfort when eating for some time, I contacted Able Denture Care. As a result of the excellent treatment given I can now eat, speak more clearly and have regained the confidence that I lacked. I would be more than pleased to recommend Able Denture Care.”
